More About Steve Otto Construction
Steve was born in Ohio to a Mennonite family whose family lineage of building trades originate as early settlers from Germany. Steve Otto Construction, like Germany, is well known for their “solid construction” and craftsmanship. At the age of 7, with just a little more than a suitcase for each family member, Steve and his family departed on a church mission to Paraguay. In the deep jungles of South America, the family pursued its building roots while clearing jungles, building colonies, planting gardens, etc. in challenging and primitive conditions. The absence of electricity held a blessing for Steve as he learned to work and build with only simple hand tools, shaping the skills of an expert craftsman in the young boy.

At 21, Steve returned to the United States working with heavy equipment and construction trades with other skilled builders, award-winning architects, developers, and construction companies.
Later settling in Rock Island, Tennessee, he established his own construction company and became known as the custom builder “who blends family custom river homes with recreational structures for generations of family fun” on the Rock Island shores and farms. Since 1991, We has been dedicated to making families’ dream homes become visible realities. Steve has a reputation to blend unique craftsmanship with his clients’ desired styles, to construct award-winning architectural design, and to ensure a “solid construction” leaving an engraved footprint for family generations to enjoy and call HOME.
